Weld mapping for piping isometrics, done in 48 hours
Send the iso package and get back every weld numbered, mapped and logged, with size, schedule, material and joint type checked against the BOM. Built for fab shops, QA/QC firms and contractors who would rather not spend days on it in-house.
What you get
- Weld numbers assigned on every iso, following your convention
- A weld log in Excel: line, weld number, size, schedule, material, joint type, shop or field
- A discrepancy report: size, schedule and material mismatches against the BOM, duplicate or missing weld numbers
- Revision tracking when new iso revs come in, with changed, added and deleted welds called out
Who uses it
Pipe fabrication shops logging spools before the first cut, QA/QC and inspection firms starting a job with a complete numbered log, mechanical contractors handing field crews logs that match the drawings, and EPC document control teams keeping logs current through every revision.
Power, LNG and process piping
The work comes from the field: lube oil, deionized water, service air and process lines on power plant and industrial projects across Texas and the Gulf Coast. Every map is reviewed by hand by a working weld mapper before delivery.
Pricing
The first 5 isos are free so you can judge the output. Packages are $10 per iso with a 50% deposit and the balance on delivery. Steady work goes on a $2,500/month retainer with 24-hour turnaround.
Common questions
- What is weld mapping?
- Weld mapping is numbering every field and shop weld on the piping isometrics and recording each one in a weld log with its size, schedule, material, joint type and line number, so welds can be tracked through fit-up, welding, NDE and turnover.
- How fast is turnaround?
- Standard turnaround is 48 hours for a full iso package. Retainer clients get priority 24-hour turnaround.
- Do you follow our numbering convention?
- Yes. Send your existing weld log or numbering rules with the package and the weld map follows them. If you have none, we use a clear line-and-sequence convention.
- Who signs off on the weld map?
- Your QC team. Weld data is extracted and validated against the drawings you provide; final QC acceptance remains your company's responsibility.
